An abdominal hysterectomy may be recommended over other types of hysterectomy if:

• Some diseases like cancer, fibroid, endometriosis, and uterine prolapse.
•  Abnormal vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain.

Hysterectomy is the permanent solution to these problems, but you can’t conceive after a hysterectomy.

For other conditions — including fibroids, endometriosis and uterine prolapse — you may be able to try less invasive treatments first. Hysterectomy risks like infection after the surgery, blood clots, excessive bleeding, and early menopause.
