Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts: Home Remedies and Natural Treatment
Fibroids and ovarian cysts are very commonly seen in women of reproductive age. Ovarian cysts can vary in type and cause, including ovarian cyst hemorrhagic, ovarian cyst dermoid, ovarian cyst endometriosis, and ovarian cyst functional types. Fibroids are firm, solid tumours that arise from the muscular tissue of the uterus, while cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop within the ovary or on the outer surface of the ovary. Both fibroids and ovarian cysts are benign and non-cancerous.
Understanding the ovarian cyst meaning, ovary cyst reasons, and ovarian cyst causes can help in identifying the right approach to treatment.
Some home remedies may sometimes be effective in getting rid of them.

Lemon Juice
This contains citric acid and, if taken regularly along with a pinch of baking soda, helps in shrinking the size of the uterine tumour. It can also support detoxification, helping to balance hormones that influence ovarian cyst size.
Garlic
Chewing garlic regularly helps to control the growth of the fibroid and also helps in shrinking it. Garlic is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. It works as a powerful antioxidant and helps to remove metabolic waste from the pelvic cavity, and ovarian and uterine tissue. It also helps to regulate the female hormones, which can positively impact ovarian cyst pain and reduce the risk of ovarian cyst complications.
Ginger
This helps to stimulate the endocrine glands, regulate estrogen secretion, and maintain hormonal balance within the body. Checking the estrogen secretion helps to check the growth of the fibroids and cysts, which is important since ovarian cysts are often influenced by hormonal imbalance. Consuming ginger tea may also help manage discomfort associated with ovarian cyst pain.
Turmeric
This is a proven antioxidant and helps in curing many ailments in the body and has proven to be beneficial for fibroids and cysts as well. Turmeric can support ovarian cyst medical treatment by reducing inflammation and balancing hormones.

Honey
Honey is effective in treating ovarian cysts. Honey mixed with lemon juice in a glass of water every day in the morning helps to stimulate metabolism, helping to reduce weight and set a hormonal balance in the body. This helps to cure ovarian cyst functional conditions and maintain ovarian cyst normal size.
Apple Cedar Vinegar
Drinking apple cider vinegar regularly helps to remove toxins from the body and also helps in fat reduction. It helps in regulating estrogen content in the body, which helps to control the size of fibroids and ovarian cysts. This can be beneficial before considering ovarian cyst operation or ovarian cyst laparoscopic surgery if the cyst grows beyond the ovarian cyst size for surgery.
Fish
Omega-3 fatty acids present in fish are very effective for shrinking fibroids. Choose cold-water fish like tuna, salmon, herring, and sardines to get rid of uterine fibroids. A diet rich in omega-3 can also support women undergoing ovarian cyst medication or ovarian cyst medical treatment.
Green Tea
Green tea contains a compound called Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) that inhibits the growth of fibroid cells. Green tea has anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and anti-proliferative properties which not only help in relieving symptoms of fibroids and cysts but also help in reducing their size as well. Regular intake can support recovery after ovarian cyst removal or ovary cyst remove procedures.
Amla
It is an excellent antioxidant and immuno-modulator and is routinely used as an Ayurvedic medicine to reduce the size of fibroids and ovarian cysts. It has to be consumed daily for a few months to be effective. Amla may also prevent ovarian cyst complications and support natural hormone balance.
Castor Oil
Applying castor oil on the abdomen helps to stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory systems, which helps to increase lymphocytes (disease-fighting cells) in the body. This helps to remove toxins from the body, which play a major role in the development of fibroids and cysts. Castor oil also contains ricinoleic acid with anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in reducing the symptoms of ovarian cyst pain and swelling. Regular application may delay the need for ovarian cyst operation or ovarian cyst laparoscopic surgery.
In addition to these home remedies, it is important to eat a healthy, nutritious diet rich in green vegetables and fruits. It is seen that women who consume more red meat and ham are more prone to developing fibroids. A high-fiber diet, rich in proteins and less refined carbohydrates, helps in maintaining weight and keeping the hormones—estrogen and progesterone in balance, thus effectively reducing the chances of developing ovarian cysts.
Women with recurrent cysts should consult ovarian cyst specialists to understand the ovarian cyst types and possible ovarian cyst removal or medical treatment options. Early consultation helps determine whether the ovarian cyst is dangerous or can be managed naturally. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps to flush out the toxins and maintain hormonal health.
