Home Remedies For Treating Fibroids & Ovarian Cyst by Dr Amita Shah

Home Remedies For Treating Fibroids Ovarian Cyst

Fibroids and ovarian cysts are very commonly seen in women of reproductive age. Fibroids are firm, solid tumours that arise from the muscular tissue of the uterus. Cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop within the Ovary or on the outer surface of the Ovary. Both Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts are benign and non-cancerous.
Some home remedies may sometimes be effective in getting rid of them.

Lemon Juice

Lemon Juice

this contains citric acid and if taken regularly along with a pinch of baking soda, helps in shrinking the size of the uterine tumour.

Garlic

Chewing garlic regularly helps to control the growth of the fibroid and also helps in shrinking it. Garlic is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. It works as a powerful antioxidant and helps to remove metabolic waste from the pelvic cavity, and ovarian and uterine tissue. It also helps to regulate the female hormones.

Ginger

This helps to stimulate the endocrine glands, regulate the estrogen secretion and maintain hormonal balance within the body. Checking the estrogen secretion helps to check the growth of the fibroids and the cysts.

Turmeric

this is a proven antioxidant and helps in curing many ailments in the body and has proven to be beneficial for fibroids and cysts as well.

Turmeric

Honey

is effective in treating ovarian cysts. Honey mixed with Lemon juice in a glass of water every day in the morning helps to stimulate the metabolism, helping to reduce weight and set a hormonal balance in the body. This helps to cure the ovarian cysts.

Apple Cedar Vinegar

Drinking apple cedar vinegar regularly helps to remove toxins from the body and also helps in fat reduction. It also helps in regulating estrogen content in the body which helps to control the size of Fibroids and Ovarian Cyts.

Fish

Omega-3 fatty acid present in fish is very effective for shrinking fibroids. Choose cold-water fish like tuna, salmon, herring and sardines to get rid of uterine fibroids.

Green Tea

Green tea contains a compound called Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) that inhibits the growth of fibroid cells. Green tea has anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and anti-proliferative properties which not only help in relieving symptoms of Fibroids and Cysts but help in reducing their size as well.

Amla

It is an excellent antioxidant and immuno-modulator and is routinely used as an Ayurvedic medicine to reduce the size of Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts. It has to be consumed daily regularly for a few months to be effective.

Castor Oil

Applying castor oil on the abdomen helps to stimulate the Lymphatic and Circulatory Systems, which helps to increase the Lymphocytes (disease-fighting cells ) in the body. This helps to remove the toxins from the body, which play a major role in the development of Fibroids and Cysts. Castor oil also contains ricinoleic acid with anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in reducing the symptoms of Fibroids and Cysts.

In addition to these Home Remedies, it is important to eat a Healthy Nutritious Diet, rich in Green vegetables and Fruits. It is seen women who consume more red meat and ham, are more prone to developing Fibroids. A high-fiber diet, rich in proteins and less refined carbohydrates helps in maintaining weight, keeping the hormones- Estrogen and Progesterone in balance and thus effectively reducing the chances of the development of Fibroids and Cysts. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps to flush out the toxins.
