Cervical cancer can be prevented through vaccination (e.g., Gardasil, Cervavac) and regular screenings like Pap smears.

Cervical cancer is mainly caused by infection with high-risk strains of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), which is a sexually transmitted virus.

Symptoms of cervical cancer include: 

• Abnormal vaginal discharge 

• Irregular periods and bleeding after intercourse (postcoital bleeding).

Cervical cancer occurs in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus. It’s the most common cancer in women in India, primarily caused by high-risk strains of HPV.
